Outa Summer and Into USCX!!!

CX season is kicking off this weekend in Englewood, Wisconsin and as the Cervelo OrangeLiving team is finishing our prep and getting ready for travel we thought it was a good time to share a bit of what we’ve been up to this summer!

I recently completed a training camp in Andorra filled with many long days on the bike, exploring a new-to-me area, and a ton of climbing! It was incredible to get to spend a few weeks in the Pyrenees riding and hiking in preparation for the fast approaching season. My summer race schedule was very light, just a few MTB and gravel events mixed into training time but this left the opportunity for big rides and some adventures. I spent many weeks in the Rocky Mountains camping, hiking, and of course riding and I felt so lucky to make a stop in Paris right before Andorra to watch the Olympics! It was incredible to get to see friends race and become Olympians and to witness the Olympic experience. We visited the Canadian Olympic House, watched the opening ceremonies, tennis, road racing, and got to see beach volleyball in the Eiffel Town stadium. At a lack of words to describe what an amazing experience it was!! After the time away I’ve made a quick stop back at home to get my things packed once again and race our local Wednesday Worlds. Super pumped to be back on the CX bike again and heading out for the USCX season!

Jules spent the early parts of summer racing on the gravel bike and has since been preparing for cyclocross. He coached the Montana Euro Cross Academy camp at the end of July and has been enjoying training, coaching a junior team, and group rides throughout August!

Kaya’s summer was hype, of course. As much as she did love the gravel racing, this girl is ready for some skinnier tires and mud! After a long process of recovering from an injury in her brain she is feeling great and ready to shred the CX scene!

Scott spent the summer racing some MTB and gravel including GoPro Games where he showed his strength with some great results! He’s now ready to rip on the CX bike and is coming in strong to the start of the season!

Amazing news! We have a new teammate: welcome Luke!! Luke Walter is our newest first year U23 racer, joining us from Boulder, Colorado. Luke’s summer was filled with racing on the MTB, road, and gravel and he has been enjoying preparing for the CX season with McGovern. After a strong season last year in the states and making the trip across the pond to race World Cups and the World Championships we’re excited to see him racing the USCX series under the Cervelo OrangeLiving banner!

See you at the races!
